President of Turkmenistan Expresses Condolences to China Following Earthquake in Tibet

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan has extended his deepest condolences to President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China following the devastating earthquake that struck Tibet Autonomous Region at the border with Nepal and India. The earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.8, resulted in significant human casualties and injuries.

In his message, President Berdimuhamedov expressed his heartfelt sympathy and offered words of comfort on behalf of the people and government of Turkmenistan, as well as in his personal capacity, to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives. He also wished a swift recovery for those who were injured in the tragedy.

The earthquake, which struck on Tuesday morning, has claimed the lives of at least 126 people, with 188 others injured, according to reports from China’s state news agency Xinhua. The Chinese government has been providing support to those affected by the disaster, and strong tremors were also felt by residents of Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu.

Turkmenistan’s President’s message highlights the solidarity and compassion shared by nations in times of crisis, reinforcing the strong diplomatic ties between Turkmenistan and China.
