President of Turkmenistan Receives Newly Appointed German Ambassador Petra Dachtler

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Petra Dachtler, the newly appointed Ambassador of Germany to Turkmenistan, who presented her credentials during a meeting, Turkmen state media reported.
The German ambassador expressed gratitude for the reception and said it was an honor for her to represent Germany in Turkmenistan. She conveyed warm greetings from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Friedrich Merz to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Dachtler on her appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic mission, expressing confidence that her tenure would contribute to further strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and Germany.
The sides noted that Germany is among Turkmenistan’s leading European partners, with bilateral relations based on mutual respect, trust, equality and consideration of shared interests.
The meeting also focused on cooperation within the framework of the United Nations on international peace and security, sustainable development, environmental protection and climate change. The importance of the Central Asia-Germany dialogue format was highlighted in promoting regional development, expanding economic ties and enhancing transport connectivity.
Particular attention was paid to trade and economic cooperation, including the activities of the Turkmen-German Working Group on Trade and Economic Cooperation and engagement with the German Eastern Business Association.
The sides further discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in healthcare, education, culture and humanitarian affairs.
Ambassador Dachtler expressed her readiness to make every effort to further strengthen the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Germany and expand mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.
