President Pezeshkian Warns of External Attempts to Undermine Public Confidence Amid Ongoing Tensions

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian has cautioned against what he described as efforts by adversaries to erode public satisfaction through attacks on infrastructure and the imposition of blockades.
Speaking during a visit to the Ministry of the Interior on Sunday, the president stated that such actions are aimed at creating dissatisfaction among the population. He emphasized the need for authorities to remain vigilant and ensure that no conditions arise which could lead to public discontent.
“The enemy has a plan to turn the people’s current satisfaction into dissatisfaction,” Pezeshkian said, stressing that maintaining stability and public confidence must remain a priority.
The president also expressed appreciation for the performance of provincial governors, noting that they have been granted extensive administrative authority. “In terms of management, they have the same powers as the president,” he added, underscoring the government’s decentralized approach to governance.
The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions following a large-scale military escalation involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. According to Iranian officials, the escalation followed the assassination of senior leadership figures, including Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with military commanders and civilians on February 28.
Subsequent hostilities reportedly involved extensive aerial strikes on military and civilian infrastructure across Iran, resulting in casualties and significant damage. In response, Iranian Armed Forces carried out retaliatory operations, targeting positions described as American and Israeli-linked in the region using missile and drone strikes.
Iranian authorities continue to stress the importance of national unity and resilience in the face of ongoing challenges, while maintaining that safeguarding public welfare remains central to government policy.
