President Tokayev Attends City of Trade Jobs Festival at EXPO Site

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev participated in the City of Trade Jobs festival, held at the EXPO site with the support of the Kazakh Ministry of Enlightenment and other relevant agencies. The festival, marking the beginning of the “Trade Jobs Year” declared by the President, brought together leading specialists, employers, and institutions offering vocational and technical education.

The event featured 40 interactive exhibition areas, offering visitors an opportunity to explore over 200 professions and gain insights into various sectors of the economy. The festival included seminars, master classes, innovation workshops, and job fairs, attracting more than 15,000 attendees over the first two days.

During his visit, President Tokayev explored the training programs for specialists in key sectors such as energy, mining, metallurgy, oil and gas, construction, and agriculture. He was briefed on the efforts by vocational and technical education institutions to adapt to the evolving demands of the labor market, tailored to the specific needs of each region.

In his remarks, President Tokayev highlighted the growing demand for qualified specialists, particularly in light of significant national projects, including the planned construction of a nuclear power plant. The Kazakh leader reaffirmed the importance of providing skilled workers to meet the needs of Kazakhstan’s expanding economy.

The “Year of Trade Jobs,” declared by President Tokayev in his recent state-of-the-nation address, aims to underscore the significance of vocational and technical education as a cornerstone for sustainable economic growth and development in Kazakhstan.
