President of Uzbekistan Receives World Triathlon President to Discuss Deeper Sports Cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On May 26, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Mr. Antonio Fernandez Arimany, President of World Triathlon, who is visiting Uzbekistan in connection with the Triathlon and Paratriathlon World Cup currently taking place in the historic city of Samarkand.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the further expansion of practical cooperation with the globally renowned sports organization, particularly in the promotion and development of triathlon in Uzbekistan. President Mirziyoyev underscored Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering international sporting partnerships and expressed appreciation for World Triathlon’s active engagement in supporting national efforts to elevate triathlon standards across the country.
The Uzbek leader noted with satisfaction the dynamic growth of triathlon in the nation, highlighting the successful operations of the national triathlon federation, the regular hosting of international competitions, and the growing achievements of Uzbek athletes on both continental and global stages.
The discussions also focused on enhancing collaboration through the implementation of expert support programs. These initiatives aim to bolster the training of athletes, coaches, referees, and sports administrators, while also promoting the development of modern triathlon infrastructure throughout the country.
