President Tokayev Attends Expanded SEEC Meeting in Minsk, Kazakhstan to Chair Council in 2026

Minsk, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan participated in the expanded-format meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) held in Minsk, Belarus, to discuss key issues related to trade and economic cooperation among Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states and strategic partners.
According to media reports, the high-level gathering focused on advancing collaboration in priority sectors such as industry, transport and logistics, agriculture, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. The discussions underscored the importance of deepening integration within the EAEU and strengthening economic ties with key partner nations.
In addition to President Tokayev, the meeting featured addresses by President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran (via video link), President Miguel Díaz-Canel of Cuba, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and First Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Nyam-Osoryn Uchral.
As part of the proceedings, it was announced that Kazakhstan will assume the presidency of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in 2026, reaffirming the country’s commitment to promoting regional economic cooperation and integration.
President Tokayev’s participation highlights Kazakhstan’s active role in shaping the strategic direction of the EAEU and fostering mutually beneficial partnerships across the broader Eurasian region.
