President Tokayev Congratulates Nation on 80th Anniversary of Great Victory

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Friday extended heartfelt congratulations to the people of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, commemorating the end of the Second World War. The remarks were widely reported in national media.
“Each Kazakhstani celebrates this remarkable anniversary with a feeling of great gratitude to the generation of the victors,” the Head of State declared, honoring the immense sacrifices made during the bloodiest conflict in history.
President Tokayev reflected on the indelible impact of the war against fascism on the Kazakh people, noting the unparalleled bravery of Kazakhstan’s soldiers who fought with courage and resilience in the name of freedom and justice. He paid tribute to the hundreds of thousands who lost their lives in fierce combat and to those who endured severe hardships on the home front.
“The enormous efforts and unyielding determination of our citizens — whether on the battlefield or in the fields, factories, and plants — were instrumental in bringing the Victory closer,” Tokayev stated.
Emphasizing Kazakhstan’s enduring reverence for military valor and selfless labor, the President highlighted the country’s continued efforts to support veterans and honor the memory of its heroes. He praised the nation’s commitment to preserving the legacy of those who demonstrated true courage and determination.
In commemoration of the 80th anniversary, Kazakhstan has launched an array of nationwide events, including a large-scale military parade in the capital and the naming of approximately 500 streets after war heroes — a symbolic gesture to ensure that the sacrifices and lessons of the war are never forgotten.
“The Victory Day is a powerful reminder of the importance of maintaining peace and fostering friendship across the world,” President Tokayev remarked. “These values are essential for the well-being of our people and the progressive development of our nation.”
Kazakhstan continues to observe Victory Day as a solemn and unifying occasion, paying tribute to a generation whose courage and resilience remain a source of national pride and inspiration.
