President Tokayev Signs Decree Establishing Security Council Office in Kazakhstan

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree aimed at further improving the country’s public administration system, establishing the Office of the Security Council of Kazakhstan as a new state body.

According to the Akorda press service, the newly established Office of the Security Council will operate as a state body directly subordinate and accountable to the President of Kazakhstan.

The decree forms part of efforts to further strengthen and improve Kazakhstan’s public administration system and institutional framework.

The establishment of the office is expected to provide an institutional mechanism for supporting the activities of the Security Council and ensuring effective coordination within the country’s national security and governance framework.

The move comes as Kazakhstan continues to implement broad institutional and administrative reforms under President Tokayev’s leadership, with an emphasis on strengthening the effectiveness of state institutions and public administration.

The decree was signed on August 29, 2026, according to media reports.
