President Xi Calls for Strengthening China’s Military Network Information System
Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese President Xi Jinping has underscored the importance of building a strong and modernized information support force, calling for leapfrog development in the Chinese military’s network information systems.
As General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), President Xi made the remarks on Wednesday during an inspection of the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) information support force, a newly established strategic branch under the country’s military restructuring.
During his visit, President Xi congratulated the force on its first Party Congress and acknowledged its progress since its establishment. He highlighted the pivotal role of advanced network information systems in modern warfare and emphasized the need to enhance these systems to bolster combat readiness.
“The rapid development of technology and military innovations necessitates a robust network information system to ensure the military’s combat effectiveness,” Xi stated. He urged the force to improve its information services, strengthen public network platforms, and prioritize cybersecurity to address emerging challenges.
Xi also emphasized the importance of reform and innovation, advocating for better coordination among military branches and related government departments, stronger legal frameworks, and improved efficiency in system operations.
Noting that the force is still in its formative stages, Xi called for efforts to strengthen its internal structure, maintain strict Party leadership and discipline, and build a professional and skilled workforce. He encouraged the force’s Party committee to enhance its leadership capacity and foster innovation.
President Xi concluded by stressing the need for the Central Military Commission and government departments to work collaboratively in building the information support force, ensuring it plays a critical role in the modernization of the Chinese military.
This inspection reflects China’s continued focus on leveraging technology to enhance national defense capabilities and maintain its strategic edge in modern warfare.
