Rasht District Hosts Regular Meeting of Public Council of Tajikistan Focused on Security, Social Awareness and Youth Development

Rasht, The Gulf Observer: On May 20, a regular meeting of the Public Council of the Republic of Tajikistan was held in Rasht District, according to the regional correspondent of the “Khovar” National Information Agency.

The meeting reviewed key issues related to society, including raising religious and legal awareness among the population, preventing extremism, strengthening social cohesion, and improving the activities of public councils in cities and districts of the Rasht region.

Participants discussed the importance of the public councils’ role in promoting peace, national unity, and the development of civil society. Key topics also included ensuring public order, preventing crime, countering extremist and terrorist activities, and strengthening cooperation between state authorities and civil society institutions.

Special emphasis was placed on enhancing religious education, preventing superstition and radical ideologies, preserving social stability, and promoting tolerance and correct understanding of religious values. Speakers also highlighted the importance of youth engagement in national development and fostering a spirit of patriotism and healthy living.

The meeting further underlined the need to expand coordination between government bodies and civil society, improve civic awareness, and strengthen the role of citizens in implementing the country’s development goals.

Following discussions, instructions were issued to improve the performance of relevant institutions, address existing shortcomings, and strengthen oversight of the implementation of state programs. Officials were also tasked with taking practical measures to increase the responsibility of concerned personnel.

Local authorities in the Rasht district were advised to expand awareness campaigns in educational institutions and among the general public, intensify efforts to prevent extremism, and promote youth upbringing based on national identity and patriotism. The development of healthy lifestyles, as well as the organization of sports and cultural activities, was also encouraged.
