Royal Air Maroc Launches Direct Casablanca–Los Angeles Route

Agadir, The Gulf Observer: Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has inaugurated a new direct air route between Casablanca and Los Angeles, marking a significant milestone in African aviation and strengthening connectivity between Morocco and the United States.
The inaugural flight departed from Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca at 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, completing the approximately 12-hour journey to Los Angeles, California. The service establishes RAM as the first African airline to operate a direct route to Los Angeles and is widely reported as the first nonstop connection between Africa and the U.S. West Coast.
The new route will operate three times weekly—on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, renowned for their long-haul efficiency, advanced technology, and passenger comfort.
Announcing the launch, Royal Air Maroc stated: “Bringing Los Angeles closer than ever. Starting June 7, 2026, Royal Air Maroc launches direct flights from Casablanca to Los Angeles aboard our Boeing 787 Dreamliner.”
The Casablanca–Los Angeles service forms part of the airline’s broader North American expansion strategy, aimed at strengthening its intercontinental network and enhancing connectivity between Morocco and major global economic centers.
Royal Air Maroc already serves several key destinations across North America, including New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal, and Toronto. Los Angeles now becomes the carrier’s newest gateway on the U.S. West Coast.
According to the airline, the launch responds to growing demand for transatlantic travel among tourists, business travelers, and members of the Moroccan and African diaspora. The route is also expected to facilitate increased mobility ahead of major international events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Beyond its commercial significance, the new service reinforces the status of Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport as a leading aviation hub in Africa and further strengthens Morocco’s role as a strategic bridge connecting Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
With the introduction of the Casablanca–Los Angeles route, Royal Air Maroc continues to expand its global footprint and enhance travel opportunities between Africa and the western United States, opening new avenues for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.
