Royal Army of Oman Band Secures Third Place at Renfrew International Music Competition
London, The Gulf Observer: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) Band has earned third place in the world-class (second) level competition at the prestigious Renfrew Music Competition, held in Renfrew, Scotland, with participation from more than 20 military and musical bands representing countries from around the world.
The achievement highlights the Royal Army of Oman Band’s excellence in military music and ceremonial performance on the international stage. In addition to the team’s success, its members recorded several distinguished individual accomplishments during the event.
Warrant Officer Mohammed Khamis Al Amri secured first place in the stick-bearers competition, while Captain Hamid Suleiman Al Ghafri finished third. Warrant Officer Talal Ali Al Maamari also delivered an impressive performance, claiming fourth place in the same category.
During the competition, the Royal Army of Oman Band performed military musical displays at the second and third levels of the international bagpipes and drums classification. The performances showcased exceptional precision, synchronized ensemble playing, and disciplined marching, earning widespread admiration from spectators attending the event.
The Renfrew Music Competition marks the band’s first participation in international music competitions this year. The Royal Army of Oman Band is scheduled to continue its tour of Scotland by competing in additional music competitions in the cities of Dumbarton, Dundonald, Bridge of Allan, and Perth.
The band’s international campaign will culminate with its participation in the prestigious World Championship in Glasgow, where it will represent the Sultanate of Oman alongside leading military bands from across the globe.
