Saudi Arabia Launches New Umrah Season for Hijri Year 1447

Jeddah, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced the commencement of the Umrah season for the Hijri year 1447, starting Tuesday, June 10, with the opening of visa issuance for pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to the ministry, foreign pilgrims will be able to obtain Umrah permits beginning Wednesday, June 11, through the “Nusuk” application — the unified digital platform designed to streamline access to a wide range of government services. The app facilitates the booking and issuance of permits and offers various features to enhance the overall experience of Umrah pilgrims.

This new season marks another significant step in the Kingdom’s continuous efforts to ease and enrich the spiritual journey of Umrah pilgrims, aligning with the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The Ministry highlighted that technical and operational preparations for the season had been initiated well in advance, in collaboration with relevant entities, to ensure the highest levels of efficiency and service quality.

During the previous Umrah season, the issuance of permits was halted in April 2025, with April 29 designated as the final departure date for Umrah pilgrims, coinciding with preparations for the Hajj Season 2025.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah reaffirmed its commitment to expanding digital and awareness services in multiple languages and to maintaining the highest standards of safety, comfort, and hospitality for all pilgrims. These efforts are part of Saudi Arabia’s longstanding dedication to serving visitors to the Two Holy Mosques and enhancing their spiritual experience.

The launch of the new Umrah season underscores the Kingdom’s leadership in embracing innovation and digital transformation in religious services, further solidifying its role as a global center for Islamic pilgrimage.
