Sharjah Excellence Award 2024 Winners to Be Honoured on 25th June; Registration Extended for 2025 Edition

Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: The Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Excellence Award (SEA) has officially announced that the closing ceremony for the 2024 edition of the prestigious award will take place on 25th June. The event will honour outstanding businesses and institutions under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

The Sharjah Excellence Award, organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), has witnessed remarkable growth in participation this year, reflecting its increasing prominence as a platform promoting excellence, innovation, and competitiveness across the private sector.

The announcement was made during the Board’s recent meeting, chaired by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Chairman of the SEA Board of Trustees. Also in attendance were key stakeholders from Sharjah’s economic, tourism, academic, and private sectors, including:

  • Hamad Ali Al Mahmoud, Chairman, Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD)
  • Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA)
  • Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman, SCCI
  • Najla Ahmed Al Midfa, Vice Chairperson, Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa)
  • Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Deputy Chancellor, University of Sharjah for Community Affairs

New Milestones for the 2025 Edition

During the meeting, the Board approved a deadline extension for the 2025 edition, now set for 31st January 2026. This move aims to encourage greater participation from private sector organisations and foster a wider competitive environment across the UAE.

Among key proposals discussed was the introduction of a new award category, tentatively titled “Sharjah Award for Best Service Entity”, reflecting the Board’s commitment to recognising excellence in customer service and organisational performance.

Regional Collaboration and Strategic Development

The Board also emphasised the importance of collaboration with other prominent excellence awards across the UAE to promote shared learning and alignment with best practices. Enhancements in the award’s structure and reach were explored, including the possibility of opening participation to companies operating across all emirates, thereby expanding SEA’s national impact.

Leadership Commitment and Vision

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais reaffirmed the SCCI’s strategic vision to leverage the Sharjah Excellence Award as a tool for institutional development and innovation, in line with Sharjah’s broader economic goals. He praised the SEA team for their dedication and highlighted the award’s role in driving sustainable growth and global competitiveness.

Key Outcomes and Future Direction

Nada Al-Hajri, General Coordinator of SEA, noted that the meeting’s decisions will shape the next phase of the award. The Board’s forward-looking agenda seeks to enhance appeal, inclusivity, and outreach, ensuring SEA continues to serve as a catalyst for excellence across sectors.
