Bukhara, The Gulf Observer: Addressing the Second Asian Women’s Forum in Bukhara, Uzbekistan, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s robust support for international efforts to enhance the role of women in all spheres of public life.

Speaker Gafarova detailed the strategic importance of gender equality within Azerbaijan’s state policy, emphasizing that women are not only participants but leaders in the nation’s political, economic, and scientific landscapes.

Leadership and State Policy

During her remarks, Speaker Gafarova highlighted that women in Azerbaijan hold senior positions across various public institutions, driving innovation and governance. She specifically pointed to the influence of First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, noting that her public and political role serves as a benchmark for women’s leadership and social contribution in the country.

“Women’s rights and gender equality remain pillars of our state policy, reflecting the growing leadership of Azerbaijani women in modern society,” Gafarova stated.

Role in Post-Conflict Reconstruction
