Tashkent hosts International Stone Sculpture Symposium

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Tashkent hosted the 2nd International Stone Sculpture Symposium “Tashkent – 2023”.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, and the Creative Association of Artists of Uzbekistan.

The symposium aimed to improve the ecological culture of the population, preserve cultural heritage sites, respect history, and attract public attention to environmental protection.

10 foreign sculptors and 11 from Uzbekistan participated in the project. Masterclasses and creative meetings took place, and new sculptures were created. The symposium participants considered the issues of man and nature, climate change, the preservation of green areas, and the revival of the Aral Sea. The created sculptures will be installed in city parks and recreation areas and at tourist sites.
