Turkish Foreign Minister Holds Talks with Ukrainian Officials at Munich Security Conference

Munich, The Gulf Observer: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with senior Ukrainian officials on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday.

Fidan held discussions with Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, and Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov. While details of the talks were not immediately disclosed, the meetings come amid heightened speculation regarding potential peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

The discussions followed recent separate phone conversations between US President Donald Trump and his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts, fueling expectations of renewed diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing conflict. Russia’s military offensive against Ukraine began on February 24, 2022, approaching its third anniversary.

The Munich Security Conference, an annual gathering of global leaders and policymakers, concludes today after three days of high-level discussions on international security challenges.
