Turkmenistan and German Company Forge Partnership for Medical Cluster Development

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a strategic meeting with the leadership of Goetzpartners Emerging Markets GmbH, the consulting company that triumphed in an international tender for providing advisory services in the establishment of a medical cluster in the city of Arkadag.

During the discussions, the emphasis was placed on the further enhancement of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Germany. Notably, Germany holds a position as a priority partner for Turkmenistan within the European Union, fostering productive cooperation across various domains, with a spotlight on trade and economic collaboration.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the ongoing large-scale infrastructure development in Turkmenistan, including highway and railway construction, as well as modernization efforts in air and sea port facilities. The importance of fostering partnerships between the transport agencies, associations, and companies of both nations was underscored.

The Turkmen leader expressed that the nation has created conducive conditions for the efficient work of foreign specialists and businesses, stressing that Turkmenistan possesses abundant raw material reserves in its natural landscapes, such as the Karakum Desert, suitable for the production of export-oriented goods. With the construction of the second stage of facilities in Arkadag, Turkmenistan has established an environmentally friendly raw material base meeting international quality standards.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, the leadership of Goetzpartners Emerging Markets GmbH acknowledged their honor in participating in the construction of industrial complexes as part of the second phase of the development of Arkadag, a modern model city in Turkmenistan.

The joint venture aims to establish an international medical cluster in Arkadag, with plans to manufacture diverse medical products not only for domestic consumption but also for export. Leveraging local raw materials, the cluster aims to produce environmentally friendly, high-quality products that contribute to Turkmenistan’s economic strength and fortify Turkmen-German relations. The German company assured the Turkmen leadership that the consulting services would be of the highest standard.

In a significant development, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan and Goetzpartners Emerging Markets GmbH. This memorandum solidifies the commitment to mutually beneficial cooperation, providing a legislative foundation for the collaboration between the two entities.
