Turkmenistan and UAE’s WAM News Agency Strengthen Media Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted negotiations between Deputy Minister Myahri Byashimova and a delegation from the Emirates News Agency (WAM) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the media sphere between Turkmenistan and the UAE.
The talks, as reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, outlined key areas for collaboration in media-related activities. Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, the General Director of WAM, provided insights into the agency’s operations and highlighted the significance of the visit in fostering connections within the information domain.
Deputy Minister Myakhri Byashimova underscored the robust level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE, emphasizing media collaboration as a promising avenue for further growth. The discussions also touched upon the forthcoming Global Media Congress scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi in the fall of 2024, where Mohammed Raisi expressed the intention of the Turkmen side to actively participate.
Both parties reached an agreement to establish a news and information exchange mechanism, aiming to share updates on the achievements and developments in their respective countries. This initiative is anticipated to fortify cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE in the information sphere, creating a platform for a more comprehensive understanding of each other’s cultural, economic, and societal advancements.
