Turkmenistan Approves New Production Facilities at Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery Complex

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan is moving forward with plans to establish new production facilities at the Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery Complex (TORK) by introducing modern technologies aimed at expanding the country’s petrochemical industry and increasing the production of competitive, import-substituting products.
The development was announced during an online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, where Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Guvanch Agajanov presented a report on the activities of the state concern Turkmennebit.
According to the report, the proposed facilities will enhance the refinery’s production capacity and support the manufacture of high-value petrochemical products capable of competing in international markets while reducing reliance on imports. Agajanov submitted the proposal for consideration by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Following the presentation, President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to modernise the country’s oil refining sector and improve petrochemical production through the adoption of advanced technologies.
The president approved the proposal to establish the new production facilities at the Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery Complex and instructed the deputy prime minister to continue implementing measures aimed at strengthening the sector and expanding its industrial capabilities.
The Cabinet of Ministers also reviewed a number of other state matters during the meeting and adopted the relevant decisions.
