Turkmenistan, Germany Discuss Expanding Economic and Investment Cooperation

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova held talks with Michael Harms, Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on July 15, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During the constructive meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany and emphasized their shared interest in further deepening cooperation across a range of sectors.

Particular attention was given to expanding trade and economic ties. The discussions focused on the prospects for introducing advanced German technologies to support the modernization of Turkmenistan’s industrial sector. The two sides also explored opportunities for collaboration in conventional energy, the development of renewable energy sources, and the sustainable management of water resources.

The participants highlighted Turkmenistan’s significant potential as a key regional logistics hub and expressed interest in implementing joint infrastructure development projects aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth.

The meeting also addressed avenues for strengthening cooperation with German financial institutions to facilitate and support bilateral investment initiatives and joint projects.

Concluding the talks, both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to broadening dialogue and advancing the long-standing partnership between Turkmenistan and Germany through enhanced economic, technological, and investment cooperation.
