Turkmenistan Hosts III International Competition on Peaceful Dialogue and International Relations

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The III International Competition titled “International Relations: Culture of Peaceful Dialogue” commenced on May 12, 2026, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, bringing together students and scholars from across the world to promote dialogue, peace, and international cooperation.

An exhibition was organized in the foyer of the institute’s main building, featuring unique examples of decorative and applied arts alongside materials highlighting the priority directions of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy. Participants toured the exposition ahead of the official opening ceremony.

The creative and intellectual competition, organized by the Institute of International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, attracted participants from nine countries, including Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, United Kingdom, and Iran.

More than 40 international representatives from 13 leading universities registered for the contest, alongside 117 talented students from higher educational institutions across Turkmenistan. Organizers said the broad international participation reflected the growing importance and relevance of the competition’s theme, which focuses on contemporary global challenges and the promotion of peaceful dialogue.

Participants emphasized the crucial role of international cooperation in strengthening peace, stability, and mutual understanding in today’s rapidly changing world.

During the event, it was highlighted that Turkmenistan places significant emphasis on expanding cooperation in key sectors including politics, economics, energy, food security, and environmental protection.

As part of the cultural programme, participants of the international competition also visited the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan, where museum staff introduced guests to rare exhibits and shared insights into their historical and cultural significance.

The participants expressed sincere gratitude to Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for providing opportunities to participate in educational and cultural excursions as part of the event programme.

Contestants also praised the high standard of organization of the international competition, noting its importance in fostering intellectual exchange and identifying effective solutions to pressing global issues.
