Turkmenistan Investment Forum 2024 Kicks Off in Ashgabat
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: The Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2024) commenced today at the Yildiz Hotel in Ashgabat, serving as a critical platform for attracting international investments into Turkmenistan’s burgeoning economy. Organized by the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, the forum gathers top national and international stakeholders, according to a Turkmenportal correspondent.
Attending the forum are Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, H. Geldimyradov and B. Atdayev, along with heads of various ministries and departments. The event also hosts diplomatic missions, international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, and representatives from leading global companies and expert groups.
Over the next two days, participants will explore Turkmenistan’s rich resource potential, including opportunities for foreign direct investment in key sectors such as hydrocarbon development in the Caspian Sea offshore blocks, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, and emerging projects in gas chemistry, electric power, construction, textiles, and transportation.
The forum’s program includes thematic sessions featuring representatives from UN specialized agencies, experts from S&P Global Commodity Insights, and roundtables with the World Trade Organization Secretariat and other international institutions.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov delivered a video address to open the event, setting the stage for discussions on the country’s economic development and investment potential. Key speakers at the plenary session include representatives from the UN, World Bank, Eastern Committee of German Economy, PETRONAS, and Nippon Export and Investment Insurance.
TIF 2024 will conclude on September 11, providing invaluable insights and investment opportunities for Turkmenistan’s future growth.
