Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan has signed a decree authorizing the construction of a cutting-edge Guneshli Children and Youth Center in the capital city, complete with a digital library and an astronomical observatory, the state news agency TDH reported.

Under the decree, the Ministry of Education will oversee the design and construction of the new complex, which will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and built to meet international standards. The surrounding area will also undergo landscaping and infrastructure improvements to support the new center.

A key highlight of the center will be the integration of the Bazar Amanova State Children’s Library, which will feature advanced digital resources to enhance learning and accessibility for young readers. The inclusion of a high-tech observatory, equipped with a modern telescope for celestial observation, marks a significant step in promoting science education. This component of the project will be funded by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care.

Construction is slated to begin in June 2025, with the facility expected to be fully operational by May 2027.
