Turkmenistan’s Days of Culture Open in Georgia

Tbilisi, The Gulf Observer: The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan are underway in Tbilisi, Georgia, coinciding with the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Georgia and highlighting the growing cultural and humanitarian partnership between the two countries.
The cultural celebrations opened with a large-scale exhibition featuring masterpieces of Turkmen national decorative and applied arts. The exhibition showcased valuable museum collections, traditional handicrafts reflecting centuries-old Turkmen heritage, and works by prominent Turkmen painters and sculptors, offering visitors a comprehensive insight into the country’s rich cultural legacy.
Addressing the opening ceremony, speakers emphasized that the implementation of agreements reached during high-level bilateral meetings and negotiations continues to strengthen international cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia, with cultural and humanitarian exchanges serving as an essential pillar of the expanding partnership.
They noted that cooperation in culture plays a vital role in bringing the peoples of both countries closer together, promoting greater understanding of their historical traditions, customs, and artistic achievements. The coincidence of the cultural event with President Berdimuhamedov’s official visit to Georgia was described as a reflection of the importance both countries attach to further enhancing their bilateral relations.
As part of the programme, artists and library professionals from Turkmenistan and Georgia held a joint meeting to exchange professional experiences and discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation and dialogue in their respective fields.
The programme also included meetings between the heads of theatres from both countries, during which participants explored prospects for closer collaboration, exchanged views on contemporary performing arts, and discussed future initiatives aimed at strengthening theatrical cooperation.
Members of the Turkmen creative delegation also visited several of Tbilisi’s historical and cultural landmarks as part of the cultural exchange programme.
The opening celebrations concluded with a festive concert featuring the performance of the patriotic song “Öňe, öňe, diňe öňe, jan Watanym – Türkmenistan,” composed by the Hero-Arkadag, bringing the ceremony to an inspiring close.
The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Georgia will continue with a series of cultural events and exchanges aimed at further promoting mutual understanding and deepening friendship between the two nations.
