Turkmenistan's President and Dragon Oil Chairman Discuss Strategic Expansion in Energy Sector

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: On August 26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan received Saeed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil, for a high-level meeting aimed at discussing the expansion of their long-standing partnership. The discussions focused on leveraging the substantial experience both parties have accumulated through years of collaboration, especially in light of Turkmenistan’s ambitious plans to advance its fuel and energy complex.

During the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the priority objectives for Turkmenistan’s key economic sector, which include increasing the production and processing of oil and gas, as well as enhancing the export capacity of Turkmen energy resources and finished oil and gas chemical products. He emphasized the favorable conditions that Turkmenistan has created for foreign business, pointing to the promising prospects for expanding traditional cooperation with Dragon Oil.

President Berdimuhamedov expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to consider specific proposals from Dragon Oil, reflecting the country’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for foreign investment and collaboration. In response, Saeed Al Tayer expressed his gratitude for the high level of trust placed in Dragon Oil and assured President Berdimuhamedov that the company would continue to make every effort to meet its contractual obligations with precision and diligence.
