UAE and Indonesia to Boost Bilateral Ties

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Special Envoy of H.H. the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Indonesia, led a high-level delegation on an official visit to Indonesia from January 29 to February 1. The visit aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, reflecting the shared aspirations of the leadership of both nations.
Meetings with Indonesian Leadership
During the visit, Al Mazrouei met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, conveying the greetings of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in political, economic, trade, and cultural sectors, as UAE-Indonesia relations continue to expand into a comprehensive strategic partnership.
President Prabowo Subianto expressed Indonesia’s commitment to further strengthening ties and accelerating the finalization of bilateral agreements and joint ventures.

Al Mazrouei and his delegation held high-level meetings with Indonesian ministers and officials, including:

UAE-Indonesia Business Roundtable
The third UAE-Indonesia roundtable meeting, chaired by Al Mazrouei, was attended by top officials and industry leaders from both nations. Emirati companies such as Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines, Abu Dhabi Ports, Masdar, Mubadala, ADNOC, and First Abu Dhabi Bank participated in discussions covering:
- Energy (conventional & renewable)
- Aviation, ports, and logistics
- Infrastructure and construction
- Defense and strategic industries
- Food security and education
The roundtable also addressed challenges faced by UAE investors in Indonesia and explored solutions to facilitate smooth business operations.
Concluding High-Level Meetings
The visit concluded with discussions with Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Chairman of the National Economic Council, and Indonesia’s Coordinating Ministers for Economic and Food Affairs. The UAE reaffirmed its commitment to economic growth and investment cooperation, particularly in food security, energy, transportation, and logistics.
