UAE Foreign Minister Participates in Trump-Convened Meeting with Arab and Islamic Leaders in New York

New York, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, participated in a high-level meeting convened by US President Donald Trump with a number of Arab and Islamic leaders and foreign ministers on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meeting brought together a number of senior leaders and officials, including King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan; H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar; Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan; Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa; H.H. Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait; Ali al-Zaidi, Prime Minister of Iraq; Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam; Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly; Saudi Foreign Minister H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah; Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi; Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani; and Omani Ambassador to the United States Talal bin Sulaiman bin Habib Al Rahbi.

The discussions focused on the latest regional developments and the prevailing situation in the Middle East, with particular emphasis on efforts to strengthen security and stability and advance the aspirations of the region’s peoples for development and economic prosperity.

The participants also exchanged views on mechanisms to enhance multilateral international action in support of peace, development and stability, while addressing regional and international challenges.

During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed commended the efforts of President Donald Trump to promote security and stability and advance peace and development in the Middle East.

He reaffirmed the UAE’s support for regional and international initiatives aimed at reducing tensions and establishing lasting peace in a manner that contributes to security, stability and prosperity for all peoples of the region.

Sheikh Abdullah further highlighted the depth of the strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States, describing the relationship as being based on trust, mutual respect and shared interests, alongside broad cooperation across key sectors that support the development priorities of both countries.

The meeting was also attended by Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State; Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State; and Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States.
