UAE Minister of Economy Highlights Investment Opportunities at Gateway Gulf 2024 Forum
Manama, The Gulf Observer: Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, participated in a panel discussion at the Gateway Gulf 2024 Investment Forum, held in Manama, Bahrain, on November 3-4. Organized by Bahrain’s Economic Development Board, the forum gathered regional and international leaders to discuss economic growth and investment opportunities.
During the session, Minister Al Marri outlined recent advancements in the UAE’s business environment and highlighted investment opportunities within emerging economic sectors. He also discussed key economic legislative updates aimed at enhancing the country’s attractiveness as an investment destination.
Al Marri emphasized the UAE’s achievements under its visionary leadership, particularly in diversifying the national economy and fostering a knowledge- and innovation-driven economic model. Currently, non-oil sectors account for 74% of the UAE’s GDP, reflecting the country’s commitment to reducing oil dependency. This diversification, he noted, is creating ample opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs to expand in new economy sectors, supporting the UAE’s goal to become a global leader in the new economy by the next decade, in line with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision.
“Gulf countries have emerged as key economic players with a notable impact on the global economic and investment landscape,” said Al Marri, citing their strategic locations, world-class infrastructure, and diverse investments as factors establishing the region as a hub for international business.
Al Marri reiterated the UAE’s commitment to strengthening Gulf cooperation across economic and investment fields, focusing on initiatives that promote economic integration and resilience. “By fostering deeper Gulf collaboration, we can support the progress and prosperity of our economies, enhancing our collective position on the global stage,” he stated.
The Gateway Gulf Forum continues to serve as a strategic platform for exploring investment opportunities across the Gulf, fostering regional partnerships, and reinforcing the region’s standing as a thriving center for global trade and investment.
