UAE President Welcomes Participants of Third UN Police Performance Workshop
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed participants of the third UN Police Performance Workshop, currently hosted by the UAE Ministry of Interior in Abu Dhabi. The event focuses on enhancing the performance of UN police leaders in peacekeeping operations, particularly during conflicts and crises, and is being held for the third time outside the United Nations headquarters.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, accompanied by H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, met with the attendees at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. He expressed his appreciation for their participation and wished them success in their efforts to develop recommendations aimed at improving police work in line with global best practices. These efforts, he noted, are essential for overcoming the challenges faced by law enforcement in various contexts.
In his remarks, His Highness highlighted the importance of dialogue and the exchange of expertise between international agencies to strengthen their ability to maintain peace and security. He reiterated the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting international cooperation and coordination in efforts to create safer societies worldwide.
His Highness also commended the significant role played by international police forces in promoting peace and security, particularly in regions affected by conflict. He emphasized the vital contribution of these forces in ensuring stability and safeguarding communities.
The workshop, which brings together international police leaders and experts, addresses critical topics such as performance management in peacekeeping operations, future frameworks for international police work, and the anticipated challenges in global law enforcement. The event underscores the UAE’s dedication to fostering international collaboration in enhancing police capabilities and ensuring peace in conflict-affected areas.
