Uzbekistan and Italy Strengthen Cultural Ties Through Key Collaborative Initiatives

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Yusufjon Usmanov, recently held a productive meeting with Stefano Lo Russo, the Mayor of Turin, in an effort to further enhance cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Italy. During the meeting, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations, noting that cooperation in cultural affairs has reached an advanced level.
The discussion highlighted the successful exchange of mutual visits between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Italy in 2023, which played a significant role in reinforcing the political, economic, and cultural relations between the two nations.
Among the key issues addressed during the meeting were the potential for securing a grant to refurbish the Republican Central Special Library for the Blind in Tashkent. Additionally, the possibility of providing staff members of the library with the opportunity to travel to the Royal Library of Turin to exchange work experience was also explored.
Further discussions centered around plans to collaborate with Iren Company on the modernization of cultural facilities using energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies.
Both officials emphasized that growing cultural cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy will not only enrich the cultural heritage of both nations but also contribute to the advancement of global art and cultural dialogue.
