Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Strengthen Bilateral Ties with New Agreements

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan held a meeting on Saturday, culminating in the signing of two key documents to enhance bilateral relations, according to a statement from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov concluded their discussions by signing a Cooperation Program for 2025–2026 and a Protocol on the Inventory and Improvement of the Contractual and Legal Framework. These agreements aim to bolster collaboration across various sectors and solidify the legal foundations of their partnership.

During the meeting, the ministers also exchanged verbal notes in support of each other’s candidacies in international organizations, demonstrating a commitment to mutual support on the global stage.

“These steps underline the desire of both countries to develop mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthen friendly relations,” the Uzbekistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

This meeting reflects the growing strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, reinforcing their shared goals of fostering regional stability, economic development, and diplomatic collaboration.
