Uzbekistan celebrates "International Day of the Girl Child"

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, the State Committee for Family and Women and the Agency for Youth Affairs organized a forum “Your initiative – for your future”, under the motto “Girls are the support of the nation”.

The forum events were held in the New Uzbekistan Park, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, and the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent. Almost 200 girls from all regions of the country took part in them and tested their knowledge in the intellectual game “Zakovat”.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zulaykho Mahkamova, Chairman of the State Committee for Family and Women Ozoda Parpiboyeva, Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education Dilshod Kenjayev spoke about expanding the scope of initiatives aimed at caring for girls.

It was noted that based on the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly of December 19, 2011, October 11 is celebrated as the International Day of the Girl Child.

The celebration of this date allows us to study and analyze the living conditions, ensuring the rights and freedoms of girls around the world.

All forum participants were presented with certificates and memorable gifts.
