Uzbekistan Shooting Team Gears Up for Olympic Qualifying Event in Rio de Janeiro

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: The final Olympic qualifying event for shooting, leading directly to the “Paris-2024” Olympic Games, is set to take place from April 13 to April 19 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as reported by Uzbek media sources.

According to the National Olympic Committee, the Shooting Sports Federation of Uzbekistan has announced the lineup of athletes who will represent the nation at this crucial competition.

Uzbekistan’s shooting contingent, comprising talented marksmen and markswomen, has been preparing diligently for this significant event. The athletes, including Mukhtasar Tohirova, Gulbonu Qambarbekova, and Javahir Sohibov, will showcase their skills in air rifle shooting from 10 meters and rifle shooting from 50 meters.

In addition, Muhammad Kamalov, Vladimir Svechnikov, Ilhombek Obidjonov, and Sitora Ergashboyeva will compete in the challenging discipline of 10-meter air pistol shooting.

The Uzbek team arrived in Brazil on March 31 and underwent official training sessions to fine-tune their techniques and readiness for the upcoming competition.

A total of 466 athletes representing 76 countries will vie for coveted Olympic qualification spots during this tournament.

The Uzbek Shooting Sports Federation and the National Olympic Committee express confidence in the abilities and determination of their athletes, who are poised to deliver outstanding performances on the international stage.

The event in Rio de Janeiro holds significant importance as the final opportunity for athletes to secure direct qualifications for the prestigious “Paris-2024” Olympic Games, adding an element of excitement and anticipation to the competition.
