Uzbekistan granted citizenship to more than 23,000 people since 2016
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: From December 2016 to the present day, 23,310 stateless persons have been granted citizenship of Uzbekistan based on 97 decrees of the President of Uzbekistan.
The granting of citizenship to stateless persons by years:
2016 – 179 people
2017 – 1,064 people
2018 – 2,760 people
2019 – 6,318 people
2020 – 8,127 people
2021 – 4,567 people
2022 – 295 people
Only 482 people were granted citizenship of Uzbekistan from 1991 to 2007, and no one received citizenship between 2007 and 2016.
