Bali, The Gulf Observer: Party General Secretary Tô Lâm attended the official ceremony to announce Vietnam Airlines’ direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Bali’s Denpasar on Sunday, as part of his ongoing state visit to Indonesia.

This new route marks the national carrier’s second connection between Việt Nam and Indonesia, bringing the total number of weekly flights between the two countries to 14.

Speaking at the event, Indonesian Ambassador to Việt Nam Denny Abdi emphasized the importance of enhanced connectivity between the two nations. He praised Vietnam Airlines’ initiative to establish direct flights, noting that it would boost two-way tourist traffic and foster bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

The new service will initially offer four round trips weekly—on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays—starting from June 1, 2025. From July 2025, the frequency will increase to daily flights, operated with Airbus A321 aircraft, ensuring a comfortable and convenient travel experience.

During the launching ceremony, Vietnam Airlines Chairman Đặng Ngọc Hoà affirmed the airline’s commitment to expanding partnerships with Indonesian airlines and travel companies. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Vietnam Airlines and the Indonesian Travel Agents Association (ASTINDO) to enhance tourism cooperation between the two countries.

The new route to Denpasar underlines Vietnam Airlines’ role as a national flag carrier in strengthening global connectivity and supporting the nation’s economic rise.

In celebration of the new service, the airline has launched a special promotion offering round-trip fares from VNĐ4.52 million (US$177), including taxes and fees. This promotion is valid for flights departing between June 1 and 15, 2025, with tickets available until March 30, 2025, through the airline’s official ticket offices, agents, website, and mobile app.
