Vietnamese Prime Minister Meets Polish President in Warsaw to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Warsaw, The Gulf Observer: Vietnamese Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính met with Polish President Andrzej Duda at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, marking a significant moment in the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Poland.
During the meeting, President Duda warmly welcomed PM Chính and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, expressing confidence that the visit would serve as a turning point in advancing the Poland-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership. He praised Vietnam’s growing influence in the Asia-Pacific region and emphasized Poland’s recognition of Vietnam as its most important partner in Southeast Asia.
Reflecting on his 2017 visit to Vietnam and his meeting with PM Chính at the World Economic Forum in Dalian, China, in 2024, President Duda expressed delight at the strengthening ties between the two nations.
PM Chính acknowledged Poland’s socio-economic achievements and its contributions to European integration, conveying regards from General Secretary Tô Lâm, State President Lương Cường, and National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn to President Duda. He extended gratitude for Poland’s historic support for Vietnam’s independence and current development, emphasizing the enduring friendship between the two peoples.
The leaders celebrated progress in bilateral relations, including consistent exchanges of delegations across political, economic, and cultural sectors. Economic ties remain a cornerstone of the partnership, with trade volume exceeding USD 3 billion in 2024, positioning Poland as Vietnam’s largest trading partner in Central and Eastern Europe.
Cooperation in education, culture, tourism, and agriculture has also flourished. President Duda commended Việt Nam’s decision to waive visas for Polish citizens in 2025, predicting it would enhance tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
The two leaders agreed to further strengthen political trust and elevate relations to a strategic level. They committed to fully implementing the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and encouraged Polish investment in Vietnam in key sectors such as digital transformation, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and mineral industries. President Duda also pledged support for the early ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
President Duda recognized the Vietnamese community’s contributions to Polish society, while PM Chính expressed hope for their recognition as an ethnic minority group to deepen integration and enhance bilateral ties.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to multilateral cooperation, particularly at the United Nations and within ASEAN-EU frameworks, to promote peace and global development.
PM Chính extended an invitation from State President Lương Cường for President Duda to visit Vietnam again soon, further solidifying the historic friendship and partnership between the two nations.
