Xizang, The Gulf Observer: The latest data from Lhasa customs reveals a substantial surge in registered foreign trade companies in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region, reaching 1,045 in 2023. This represents a remarkable year-on-year increase of 26.51%, underscoring the growing economic vibrancy of the region.

In the same year, Xizang’s total import and export of goods surpassed 10 billion yuan (approximately 1.41 billion U.S. dollars). The region showcased its global reach by exporting diverse goods such as local tea, milk, honey, and mushrooms to countries including India, Singapore, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

The customs authorities in Xizang have actively contributed to this success by consistently optimizing the business environment and enhancing cross-border trade facilitation.
