Iran and Belarus Hold High-Level Talks to Strengthen Strategic Cooperation
Minsk, The Gulf Observer: Ali-Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, held talks with his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Volfovich, in Minsk, as the two nations seek to enhance political, security, and economic ties. Ahmadian’s visit to Belarus marks a significant step in boosting cooperation between the two countries across various sectors.
During their meeting, both officials emphasized the importance of strengthening relations in strategic areas such as industry, mining, and trade. They also underscored the necessity of enhancing collaboration within international frameworks, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS. Ahmadian stressed the growing need for multilateralism in the international system, calling for deeper cooperation on this front.
In addressing recent developments in West Asia, Ahmadian expressed Iran’s unwavering support for Palestine, remarking that those who have tried to marginalize the issue will be forgotten. He pointed to growing global support for Palestine, even in American universities, where pro-Palestinian demonstrations have gained momentum.
Ahmadian also spoke about the challenges facing the Zionist regime, stating that it has failed regardless of whether it chooses war or peace. He further highlighted the declining influence of the United States, urging for a new world order led by independent nations.
Belarusian counterpart Alexander Volfovich echoed these sentiments, noting that Tehran and Minsk share a common vision of building a multipolar world. He emphasized their mutual commitment to avoiding warmongering and fostering regional peace. Volfovich also expressed Belarus’s support for Iran’s initiative to create a “club of anti-sanctions countries,” a move aimed at countering economic pressures and promoting global solidarity.
The talks between Iran and Belarus signal a deepening of bilateral ties, with both countries aligning on key geopolitical issues and seeking to strengthen their influence in the international arena.
