Turkish President Erdogan Sends Heartfelt Wishes for Mawlid al-Nabawi
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan extended his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Mawlid al-Nabawi, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In a message shared on social media on Saturday, Erdogan expressed hope that the sacred day would bring peace and blessings to Muslims and all of humanity.
“On this special occasion marking the Prophet’s birth, I pay tribute to our beloved Prophet Muhammad, our guide and leader, with profound reverence and respect,” Erdogan wrote. “I pray that the night of Mawlid brings goodness and blessings to both Muslims and the entire world.”
Muslims worldwide celebrate Mawlid al-Nabawi on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar, with the exact day varying across countries. Commemorations typically include Quran recitations, prayers, lectures on the Prophet’s life, gatherings, and sharing of food within communities.
Mawlid al-Nabawi is a public holiday in several Muslim-majority countries, including Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Egypt, the UAE.
