Oman Condemns Israeli Airstrike on Iran
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman has strongly condemned an Israeli airstrike on Iranian territory earlier today, denouncing it as a “flagrant violation” of Iran’s sovereignty and a breach of international law. In an official statement, Oman’s Foreign Ministry expressed grave concerns over the escalation, warning that actions like this exacerbate violence and compromise diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation.
“These practices by Israel pose a severe risk, dragging the region towards further instability and unrest,” the ministry stated, emphasizing that such attacks deepen regional crises and thwart peaceful resolution efforts.
Oman called on the international community to take swift, decisive measures to halt what it termed “blatant violations” by Israel, underscoring the urgency of preserving peace and security across the Middle East. The Foreign Ministry’s statement further underscored the importance of addressing the core causes of the region’s conflicts, urging an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian and Arab territories.
Reaffirming Oman’s support for a two-state solution, the ministry highlighted the framework of the 1967 borders in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, advocating for Palestinian self-determination within an independent state as part of a comprehensive peace strategy.
