Shehbaz Sharif Meets Saudi Crown Prince to Discuss Strategic Economic Partnership

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Conference in Riyadh to discuss enhancing economic cooperation across multiple sectors. The meeting, held on Tuesday, focused on expanding trade, investment, and economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his best wishes for King Salman bin Abdulaziz’s health and thanked the Crown Prince for Saudi Arabia’s continued support in Pakistan’s engagements with international financial institutions. The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended to his delegation.
Prime Minister Sharif praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visionary leadership in spearheading Saudi Vision 2030, highlighting the alignment between Saudi Arabia’s goals and Pakistan’s key policy objectives. He referenced the recent high-level visit by a Saudi delegation led by the Saudi Minister of Investment, which resulted in the signing of multiple memorandums of understanding aimed at laying the groundwork for a stronger economic partnership.
Both leaders voiced shared concern over the ongoing Israeli aggression in the region, acknowledging the resulting humanitarian impact. This exchange underscores the deep religious and cultural ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which continue to strengthen under the collaborative relationship between Prime Minister Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport, Prime Minister Sharif was welcomed by the Deputy Governor of Riyadh Province, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, along with the Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and senior Saudi officials. Prime Minister Sharif, who is on a two-day official visit, is set to address the plenary session of the FII Conference, which takes place at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center from October 29 to 31.
Held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, this year’s FII Conference is themed “Infinite Horizons: Investing Today, Shaping Tomorrow” and will focus on how investments can foster a prosperous and sustainable future. Leaders from various sectors will engage in discussions on the transformative role of investments. Prime Minister Sharif is also scheduled for further meetings with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other senior members of the Saudi leadership.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the invitation, noting his enthusiasm to participate in the international forum to advance collective efforts towards a prosperous future. Sharif emphasized his commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties through enhanced trade and investment partnerships that yield mutual benefits.
