Al-Ula, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman received Iraqi Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mohammed Shia al-Sudani at the winter camp in Al-Ula on Wednesday. The meeting focused on strengthening Saudi-Iraqi bilateral relations and addressing critical regional and international issues, according to a statement from the Iraqi Prime Minister’s media office.
The two leaders discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between their countries, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to confront regional challenges. Among the key topics was the situation in Syria, where they agreed on the necessity of respecting Syria’s territorial integrity, refraining from interference in its internal affairs, and ensuring the inclusion of all components of Syrian society in the nation’s governance.
Focus on Gaza Crisis and Regional Stability
The meeting also addressed the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Both leaders condemned the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people and underscored the urgency of halting the war. They called for intensified international relief efforts to alleviate the suffering in Gaza and highlighted the need to consolidate the ceasefire in Lebanon while ensuring adherence to previously agreed-upon terms.
Prime Minister al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to regional unity and security, emphasizing cooperation to prevent conflicts and promote stability. He expressed Iraq’s readiness to work with regional partners to achieve lasting peace and security in the Middle East.
