Uzbekistan Opens New Trading House in Dushanbe

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Uzbekistan and Tajikistan continue to bolster their trade and economic partnership with the opening of a new Trading House of Uzbekistan in Dushanbe, dedicated to the sale of building materials. This initiative, spearheaded by the “O‘zsanoatqurilishmateriallari” Association, aims to enhance trade ties and create new opportunities for entrepreneurial cooperation between the two countries.

The opening ceremony was attended by key figures, including Bakhtiyor Bobokulov, Chairman of the Board of the “O‘zsanoatqurilishmateriallari” Association, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan, as well as entrepreneurs and media representatives from both nations.

Participants toured the Trading House, exploring its facilities, exhibitions of building materials, and pricing. The event also featured B2B meetings, providing a platform for Uzbek and Tajik entrepreneurs to discuss potential collaborations.

In 2024, Uzbekistan exported building materials worth $115 million to Tajikistan, including metal and ceramic products, dry building mixes, cement, and PVC profiles. Efforts are underway to further expand exports to Tajikistan with products like aerated concrete blocks, thermal insulation boards, natural stones, and wallpaper.

The opening of the Trading House is expected to significantly boost the export of building materials and foster deeper trade relations between business communities in both nations. The “O‘zsanoatqurilishmateriallari” Association has also established trading houses in Baku and Kabul, further expanding Uzbekistan’s regional trade footprint.

This new Trading House in Dushanbe marks a critical step in strengthening the economic partnership between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. It is anticipated to not only increase trade volumes but also serve as a robust bridge for sustained economic cooperation in the region.
