Firefighters Contain Clay Fire in Jurupa Valley, Evacuation Warnings Issued

Jurupa Valley, The Gulf Observer: Firefighters in Riverside County responded to a wildfire that erupted Tuesday evening in Jurupa Valley, located in the northwest corner of Riverside County.

The fire, named the Clay Fire, was reported at approximately 5 p.m. near the Santa Ana River, in the vicinity of Van Buren Boulevard and Pedley Road, according to Cal Fire. The blaze occurred roughly three miles from Riverside Municipal Airport, media reports indicated.

Evacuation Warnings Announced

In response to the fire, authorities issued evacuation warnings for the following areas:

  • South of Limonite Avenue
  • West of Van Buren Boulevard
  • East of Beach Street

Residents in the affected areas were advised to stay vigilant and prepare for potential evacuation, although no mandatory orders were issued.

The Riverside Fire Department confirmed that forward progress of the fire was halted before 9 p.m., preventing further spread. Fire crews continued their efforts to fully extinguish the blaze and monitor for potential hotspots overnight.
