Oman Intensifies Diplomatic Efforts to Halt Israeli Aggression and Uphold Regional Stability
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace and stability through diplomacy, urging the international community to adopt all peaceful means to end the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. In an official statement, Oman denounced the escalation as a flagrant violation of international, humanitarian, and moral law, and a serious hindrance to ongoing dialogue efforts aimed at reaching a fair U.S.–Iran agreement to prevent nuclear proliferation.
As part of its regional diplomatic coordination, Oman joined the Arab Republic of Egypt and several Arab and Islamic nations in issuing a joint statement condemning Israeli attacks launched since June 13, 2025. The statement firmly rejected the use of military force, called for full respect for the sovereignty of states, and urged the peaceful resolution of international disputes in accordance with established legal frameworks.
The joint declaration expressed grave concern over the dangerous consequences of continued escalation, advocating for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the elimination of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction from the region, and the protection of all nuclear facilities. It further underscored the urgency of resuming negotiations as the only viable pathway to resolving the crisis while ensuring freedom of international navigation and regional security.
In a continuation of its multilateral diplomatic engagement, Oman is set to participate in an extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Islamic countries to be held in Istanbul on Saturday. His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, will represent the Sultanate at the meeting, which aims to coordinate joint Islamic positions and reinforce collective efforts for peace in the region.
Oman’s proactive stance reflects its longstanding foreign policy approach rooted in dialogue, neutrality, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
