President Erdoğan Test-Drives Togg’s New T10F Sedan
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday test-drove the newly unveiled T10F sedan, the latest model by Türkiye’s national electric vehicle manufacturer, Togg. The event highlighted the country’s growing stature in the global electric vehicle (EV) industry and its commitment to green innovation.
President Erdoğan was joined by leading figures from Türkiye’s business and industry sectors, including the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu; Anadolu Group Chairman Tuncay Özilhan; Zorlu Holding Chairman Ahmet Nazif Zorlu; Turkcell Chairman Şenol Kazancı; and Tosyalı Holding Chairman Fuat Tosyalı.
The high-profile demonstration took place at a time when Türkiye is rapidly ascending in the global EV market rankings, driven by rising domestic production, strategic government incentives, and a nationwide expansion of EV infrastructure.
According to UK-based research group New AutoMotive, Türkiye became the eighth-largest EV market in the world in 2024. In April 2025 alone, the country sold 11,173 electric vehicles, ranking seventh globally and surpassing both Norway and Italy. Türkiye is now the top EV market among Mediterranean countries. The nation also recorded its highest-ever monthly EV sales in December 2024, with 17,894 units sold, placing it sixth globally that month.
New AutoMotive described Türkiye’s trajectory as a “success story,” noting that the country’s battery-electric vehicle (BEV) market share has remained above 10 percent for eight consecutive months — a strong indicator of widespread consumer adoption and policy effectiveness.
Türkiye’s growing EV footprint is regarded as a cornerstone of its green transformation agenda. Togg, as the nation’s flagship electric vehicle brand, has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of the domestic automotive industry. The launch of the T10F sedan represents a new phase in Togg’s strategy to compete in international markets and further accelerate the country’s mobility revolution.
President Erdoğan’s test drive served as both a symbolic and strategic endorsement of Türkiye’s EV ambitions, reinforcing the country’s goal to become a major global player in clean and sustainable transportation.
