Uzbekistan Sees 1.8% Rise in South Korean Visitors in First Five Months of 2025

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: A total of 15,400 citizens of the Republic of Korea visited Uzbekistan between January and May 2025, according to data released by the National Statistics Committee. This marks a modest increase of 266 individuals, or 1.8 percent, compared to the same period in 2024.

The data highlights the following distribution of South Korean visitors by purpose of travel:

  • Tourism: 11,164 people
  • Visiting relatives: 2,097 people
  • Official visits: 1,811 people
  • Education: 324 people

The increase in visitors, though slight, reflects a continuing trend of steady engagement between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea across various sectors, including tourism, cultural exchange, diplomatic ties, and education.
