Ethiopian Envoy Meets Pakistan’s Economic Affairs Secretary to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: His Excellency Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), met with Dr. Kazim Niaz, Federal Secretary for the Economic Affairs Division of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, to discuss the enhancement of bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

The meeting focused on institutionalizing ties between the two brotherly nations, particularly in the fields of economy, education, and health, aiming to develop a structured and long-term partnership.

Ambassador Dr. Jemal emphasized the positive trajectory of Ethiopia-Pakistan relations, noting significant progress in trade, investment, aviation, tourism, and cultural exchanges. He also informed Secretary Dr. Niaz about the forthcoming 5th Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference and Single Country Exhibition (PATDC & SCE), scheduled to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in October 2025.

Highlighting Addis Ababa’s growing role as a diplomatic hub, the Ambassador described the city as a venue for numerous international conferences that advocate for multilateralism and global engagement.

In response, Dr. Kazim Niaz acknowledged Ethiopia’s economic achievements under the leadership of Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed Ali. He welcomed the initiatives and expressed his full support for enhancing bilateral cooperation and institutional engagement between Pakistan and Ethiopia.
