Indonesia Achieves Record Rice Production, Exports to Support Palestine, President Prabowo Tells UNGA

New York, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto announced that Indonesia’s record-breaking rice production this year has secured national self-sufficiency and enabled exports to countries in need, including Palestine.
Addressing the General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, President Prabowo highlighted Indonesia’s historic achievement in rice and grain reserves, describing it as a milestone in the nation’s path to food security.
“This year, we recorded the highest rice production and grain reserves in our history. We are now self-sufficient in rice, and we have exported rice to other nations in need, including providing rice for Palestine,” he said.
The President reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to advancing global food security through resilient supply chains, higher farmer productivity, and investments in climate-smart agriculture. “We are confident that in a few years’ time, Indonesia will be the granary of the world,” he noted, stressing the importance of safeguarding future generations against food insecurity.
Earlier this year, under Prabowo’s directive, Indonesia sent 10,000 tons of rice in humanitarian aid to Palestine. The shipment was formally handed over in Jakarta in July by Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman to Palestinian Agriculture Minister Rezq Basheer-Salimia.
Prabowo’s remarks came immediately after speeches by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and US President Donald Trump. He was accompanied at the UN headquarters by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretariat Minister Teddy Indra Wijaya, who described the address as a significant moment reaffirming Indonesia’s active role in global multilateral diplomacy.
